I don't know level 6, that sounds awfully hard! Perhaps I could start with level 3 or 4 and work my way up...

Just completed the ASL English exam, I'm now amongst the majority - what a joke!
It went something like this...
*Please state your name and D.O.B.
*If you had to explain what the GPS is and how it works to someone in the street, how would you explain it? (30sec talking until interupted)
*What is the hardest strip that you've had to operate in and out of? (45 seconds)
*If you couldn't make comms after sighting an aircraft coming head on at you, what would you do? followed by, what would you tell your passengers after avoiding action has taken place? (15seconds)
*If Centre says your deviating away from your planned track, what would your response be? (15 seconds)
Finally, this is my favourite. What feedback do you have for us!?
haha, I told them what we all think![Bad teeth](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/badteeth.gif)
going_soaring! instead this weekend

I reckon the biggest farce is that they're all standard questions.
so what is stopping someone with a very poor grasp of english reheasing a reponse, ive seen it done.
and you mob are spot on, its at the wrong end of the training.

I can't understand the requirement to have a level 6 to fly outside Australia.
Having flown in Indonesia, Timor Leste, PNG, The Philippines, and various other places, I can assure you that a good handle on English is very low on the list of things you may require when flying overseas.
I even had to revert to Bahasa in Indonesia so we could communicate.![Ugh](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies2/eusa_wall.gif)
I am afraid I think it another rip off. I managed to pass the required exams to receive my licenses, and I was born, schooled, and raised in Australia. I have numerous qualifications in many industries, all Australian and conveyed and examined in English. I believe on this basis I should automatically qualify for a level 6 pass.
