Got a busted headset you would like to go to a nice home?
I want to build an home-brewed headset in the style of the Clarity Aloft product like this guru:
http://www.canardzone.com/members/ni...ss_headset.htm
Anybody got a dead headset they would be willing to part with for a reasonable sum? The only parts I need are the microphone unit (either amplified dynamic or amplified electret) and the headset leads. Anything else can be missing, broken or eaten by your labrador. The mic can be further broken down to just the mic unit itself and the amplifier circuit board (in working condition) the plastic case around it is not important. Good leads needed only if they are moulded on the plugs.
I've never seen the completed article, but know of one in the country, and about a dozen of these articles in use by pilots of homebuilts in the US. I can get the parts I need new, but with a heinous freight charge. Any leads to the above parts new in Oz would be welcome.
