AFT course QLD

Righteo,

I'm off to Maroochydore next week to start the AFT course. Just wondering if anyone has done the course recently and if you can share some advice on how to approach it and how you found his teaching format?
Cheers!

did it a couple of years ago.. some of the best cash ive spent.

be ready to put in the hard yards, but knowing every friday (and after every exam!!) you should be down at the Scubar with most of the others having a few drinks!

your all there doing the same thing, dont be afraid to ask if somethings not making sense - its probably not making sense to som of the others aswell.
theres plenty of great people you will meet, and you never know where you might see them again!

enjoy it!

Yes you will meet some great people
Yes you will have a blast at the Scubar (when I went there the pub was called "Fridays.")

Just remember that you are there to pass your ATPL. Nathan has taught thousands of guys.

Guys that did the work, passed. Guys that didn't, had trouble.

Tip 1: Do the work he sets you. Thats the minimum. If you want to make sure of passing, do more.

Tip 2: Never walk out of an exam before 'times up' unless you have answered every question and have checked it. And checked it again.

Enjoy.

They offer a fantastic course, Nathan and Warren set the standards.

The real trick to the exams lie in three area's:

1) do the work set out in class/homework, ask questions if not sure.

2) RTFQ ( read the fxxxing Question ), often you will be given a whole pile of information for a question, but only a very small amount of that info is required.

3) Know the "rules", there are rules regarding interpolation, rounding up and down for each section, knowing these will be the difference between 90% or 100% for flight planning.

Many of the practice questions in the AFTS practice exams are pretty much verbatim from the exams.

Do not bother contacting CASA to dispute questions or answers, historically that is a complete waste of time ( time better spent studying ), many of the answers are very close in content, a comma or parenthesis make the difference between right and wrong.

Enjoy !!!!.

Swanie

How about you ring AFT at Maroochydore and pay them for the notes like everyone else has. It is most inappropriate to get on here and ask for notes that are copy right protected to start with and that someone namely Nathan has gone to a lot of trouble to produce and who deserves a return on his work. This is very poor form on your part. Very poor indeed.

Maybe it is you that needs a course in understanding the English language? This thread is about the AFT course and Swanie is asking:
anyone still have their notes that they no longer need??
Now I will be the first to apologise if that wasn’t what he meant. If it was what he meant you oh me an apology for that personal attack which was uncalled for and may I point out against the rules which you signed up for when you joined Pprune.

Where does it STATE in this thread anything about Study Notes that would have givin of the impression that there were any ??????

Unless of course you have done the course and are aware of the fact 404!!
I see you have a case of small man sindrome there and are quick to hide behind the the rules , when clearly your comment at swanie was unjust and with out fact and this comment;

.This is very poor form on your part. Very poor indeed.
no that was not personal was it ?

Where in this thread does it mention hand out study notes ..

I'll certainly apoligise there 404 if you prove me wrong .

If i so need a course in the english language then maybe you could highlight for me 404 where in the english langage it states anything about study notes ...

Well it’s good to see that we will both apologies if we are wrong. It’s just a shame you don’t know the difference between criticising comments and insulting comments.

Notes/Study Notes, who cares? You’re grabbing at straws to save your sinking argument. Anyone who has done AFT's course knows exactly what I am talking about.

THANKYOU , swanie has not done the course so he would not know would he??? , and then you beat him up with your comments .

404 thanks for the argument im sorry for any comments you found to be insulting . Maybe you should consider who has and has not done the course before you have a dig at em !!

And for the record , i fully 150 % agree with your comments regarding Copyright and that Nathan should get some back for the work he puts into his notes . A WELL said comment ...

ha ha

Am I the only one who noticed that many of Nathan's notes from previous years have numerous copyright infringements on them?? The guy puts out all this copyright stuff all over his notes only to be flogging diagrams, tables, and text from other textbooks with no references or credits given. I am amazed that noone has taking him to task over it yet.

Technically you could photocopy his notes in limited form if it was for educational purposes.
