Done and Dusted?

Yes it was the CP/CEO/Owner that put the Islander down into the mudflats.

Looks like things had been heading down hill for a while. Last news paper article regarding this said Pilot put 80 passengers at risk.

Owner is facing 15 charges at the moment, with maybe more to come.

Dont think many Bay Flight Int instructors went there, most were CPL's looking for that ATO op without doing the c-cat.

Yes Mt Air have packed up there things and a new operator is in there doing the work.

Dont think you can get away these days with cowboy operations.

The CP/ CEO of Islandair is not P.H!!!!

P.H is from Bayflight, NOT Islandair!!!!

P.H is a great pilot and I only know of one of his instructors that also worked for Islandair part time, and this is in the last 6 years.

A number of Bayflight students did work there for that 1st ATO job after their CPL.

Hope thats clear!!!

WTF!!!

Dudes, anyone who puts Hooks name and "dangerous pilot" together needs grounding!!!
I've known, and flown, with the guy for longer than either of us care to remember and Hooks is one of the most skilled pilots I know. Plus he's a down-to-earth bugger and has helped more people get ahead - way ahead in many cases - than anyone, them included, will ever know. (Plus he's a damn good drinking buddy - Coruba and Coke, mixed 90% Coruba/10% Coke!)
From what I understand Hooks has been assisting Island Air, and many others at NZTG, for many years.
That he's having people PM each other about his involvement with Island Air's mud-landing is !
Temperatues in the industry have already been raised tha he got the blame for the TGA Aero-clubs demise, when he's always assisted them - if only for the agreement to stay out of the TGA local flying market! Plus his bar tab at the Aero Club bar!!!!!
Certainly in recent months, after it became Euro-Club with the vertically challenged Major and his "Flying Doctor" at the helm, he's helped them in all sorts of ways. He could have taken an offensive and swatted them off the landscape, but thats not who he is.
Hooks has had his name connected with all sorts of crap recently and it's gotta stop!
If you care to raise and points or issues, then bloody well PM me!!!

But back to the point

Last I knew, Mountain had Island Air planes taken off their certificate about 3 weeks ago.

Has someone else now picked up the Island air operation? I would have thought the likes of Sunair or Discovery would have nabbed it up in a hurry. Although Paul has strong connections to Motiti, the islanders will surely get on any plane they can?

Yeah Pressed On,

Air Discovery moved in and took up the Motiti run, were running it through the Island air hangar but recently heard that they have now moved over to the aeroclub building (Euroflight) and are doing their operation through there.

The "Island Air" signage has been pulled down off their hangar in the last few days also!!! Maybe the end of a era

RIP Island Air.

Seem's that it is, sadly, all over for Mr Ensor.

Which begs question, who will serve Motitia?

Interesting place to fly on the Motiti run. Some really nice people out there and some real jerks as well. Just like a mini version of the mainland i suppose.
I feel sorry for Paul, he is a nice guy and provided the islanders with a good service which I think they have taken for granted. I think they will notice a big difference with discovery. I cant help but think Island Air has been made a scape goat for the Air Adventures mess but unfortunatley he may have made himself an easy target.
