Training Area
Hi,
The YBCG training area extends from the 7nm Southern boundry of the Control Zone, down to Byron Bay.
The southern boundry ends at Kingscliff/Cudgen Headland, and the training area boundry runs down the coast, to Byron, then from Byron runs inland on a northerly heading towards Mullimbimby and the Murwillumbah, before meeting the southern CTA Boundry.

Open the "Flying Around" window, and if you select Brisbane, you will see Gold Coast. The Trainig Area is marked by the Red Danger Zone (or made up of a few DGR zones) south of the Aerodrome.
If you want to fly around down there, most of the Stalls and General Flying are practised Between Pottsville and Mullimbimby, and both Gold Coast flying schools use MooBall airfield (well at least it once was an airfield, not marked on VTC) for Forced Landings, OR one of the old airstrips (not sure if they are still used, not shown on VTC) at Mullimbimby.
As Far as tracking points go, you basically have two options: Condong Mill (Murwillumbah) or Hastings Point (between Pottsville and Cabarita Beach).
Its easiest to use Hastings point, reporting in at 500ft or 1500ft (keeping to the coastal altitude rules: 500ft North, 1000ft South), and for runway 14, you will almost always get a clearance to track coastal, which brings you nicely on downwind for a visual approach.
For runway 32, youll usually get told to track direct at 1500.'
At Condong Mill, for both runways, youll get a track direct clearance, followed by a visual approach.
Reporting points around the area that you usually get are Point Danger, Terranora Country Club, Cudgen Headland, the Tweed River, Tumbulgum, and Cook Island.
Going down to the training area, youll either get a southbond coastal track at 1000' or a right turn after departure that will put you on the inland route, toward tumbulgum area. From there you just Follow the Pacific Highway.
I am not sure if Murwillumbah is in FS.
