Lunch Melbourne Area

Hey all,
I am looking for some lunch ideas in the Melbourne area. Preferably within about 1 hour (or less) flight time at C182 speed from MB. Eat on, or short cab trip from, the airport. I have already exhausted Tooradin and Echuca.
Cheers

Try Brown Brothers at Milawa. They have a strip and it's a short wander across to their reataurant with a degustation style lunch. Beautiful food and great country to fly over. Ensure you book. Great wine for your pax! Watch out for the power lines at the north end.

Mt. Beauty's also well worth a day trip for the flying just great country although the range of food's acceptable but not quite as good! One way strip - watch the hills.

Tuki - about 20Nm N of Ballarat - has a great little strip (well not great but it's good fun!) and a trout farm which is great for lunch. Think it's in the ALA guide.

Definitely Milawa

Been there a couple of times, and it's a great day out. Ring first, though.

Only other places that spring to mind are

Apollo Bay. I've not landed there, but my mates went there earlier this year and said it was walking distance from town. Check the ALA guide.

Lilydale (short taxi trip into Yarra Glen - lots of restaurants)

King Island - there is a great fish and chip shop/restaurant on the roundabout (yes, THE roundabout) in Currie. Not too far from town either with the added bonus of the flight down the great ocean rd if you're VFR.

Barwon Heads is nice...probably about 25 minute flight? Haven't done it myself, but am down that way most weeks. 5 minute taxi ride into town, and the choice is yours to eat. Plenty of restaurants and cafes on the river and in town.

Apollo Bay, go coastal down for the view. Fun little strip when you get there, about a 45min walk along the beach into town and eat at Nautigals top little cafe! Weather can be a bugger though.
