Hi Tinpis, the second photo of yours in post #1295, has four exhaust stacks poking through the LH side of the cowl, other than a O720 ?.

Seen Fletchers with the O540, but a O470 is sheer madness ( bad kiwi joke ).

Q. Why do Seagulls fly upside down in NZ ?.

FU24 with the O470E flat six.
HP, Empty , MAUW , MAUW (NZ Ag), Load
225, 897 kg , 1,590 kg , 1,771 kg, 11 cwt to 15 cwt
Thats 112lbs X 15= 1680 lbs = 763 kgs.
Could actually get more in the hopper if working lime, but usually only if it was all downhill after take off.
You knew you had done a days work after up to 13 hours a day walking on eggshells.

G'day SmokingHole,re: first photo, I was looking for a shot of that particular location for Sarcs. He conducted a night retrieval out of there once with less than perfect runway lighting. As fate would have it I decided to extend a clinic flight there recently and ended up staying the night when we couldn't get the generator to fire up.
Don't know about photo #2, but #3 is sunny downtown Tjuntjuntjurrah.

SmokingHole got your PM thanks for that, although I didn't realise Madura had a cross strip! I guess they only had lighting on the one strip (and just barely at that). Tjuntjuntjarra the people that walked out of the desert in the mid 1980s, quite a civilised strip these days even has a concrete pad (if I can remember properly?!). The other WA strip also looks familiar but then there is a lot of station strips that look like that!

cheers Sarcs
