Jab250 with 8 Cylinders from Gympie Interesting unit.
An Assylum......had to beat Chuckles and Forkie to it
And a bit of Misbehaviour.......I wish!
Must have been a good weekend for you. Nice Pics
I had 3h15m home at 127Litres for 533nm. Not bad with not much in the way of tail winds. And not a bump or even cloud at 13K'

If it was my aircraft it would have an AirGizmo in it already for the iPad, or a second Garmin 300 for when the first one blanks out ! I'm glad ATC didn't get cranky when I punched a hole in the airspace when I was attempting to rectify the problem.
A PILOT instructor and a learner have made a lucky escape after their light aircraft crashed in northern Victoria.
The pair were able to get themselves out of the Jabiru after it crash landed in a paddock one kilometre after take-off at Mildura airport, police said.
The plane flipped on to its roof about 7.45am today AEST.
The two men were taken to Mildura hospital with neck pain.

Perfect example of how to do a wheels up in a fixed gear aircraft!

There used to be a Safir on the Aust register many moons ago...VH-AHA if I remember correctly.
Saw the u/c collapse on landing at Avalon once. Belonged to one of the Aero Clubs in Tas as I recall.

Unreal!
Saw a really nice albatross come in to WLM late this morning. Looked like a relatively fresh paint job. Flew beautifully, rego N42MY. Anyone familiar or have an idea of what it's up to.? Cheers

Yes gcpilot, it is a sensationally painted Grumman Albatross G-111 Albatross ,(1961). Arrived by ship from Miami into Newcastle. Came into Bankstown on Saturday. It starts its journey to West Aus. Mon 22nd. (possibly via Lake Boga Victoria).

Nice one Piano. There is a Facebook page called 'Australian Aircraft Spotters Group'. Have a look,it's quite an active group with lots of photos. I think they would urinate their trousers seeing your photies.
I hope the moderators are okay with this. I just found some great shots from the 60's & 70's on another site; these are not mine, but are too good not to bring to the attention of those viewing this thread.

Doesn't seem that long ago that Bankstown used to look like that first link with the Sid Marshals hangar full of goodies (Coupla Spits, the 109G and that Oscar hanging from the roof). The Lockheed was parked out the front for years.
