On the topic of Penfield, and old friend of mine VH-CLF used to be resident there. Didn't look like she was every going to fly again, but she seems to have disappeared. Anyone know what's happened to the old girl?
Silly Old Git
What a pretty plane. Liked Chippys unfortunately not many were involved in the NZ Aero club fleets
I can recall wandering around Bankstown on hot summer days in '65 admiring the RAC's fleet.

Oshkosh: did anyone die this year?
The last time Forkie was there....1999......
They flew in a huge flight of T34s......another Beechcraft variety...it was before his FTDK days..he was a C402 bloke then !.....
Next day the tower gave two Bearcats ' clear to take-off '... when there were two Corsairs on the runway in front of them!!!!!!!! Two collided....huge fire ...no fire tenders handy...[ they were the day before, blocking the view!]....pilot lucky to survive....
Didn't someone die last year?..........I think they average one every two or three years....
So your point is?
I reckon in 137 Bonanzas you would have 20% above average competent pilots, 20 % average , 20% below average ,but OK on a good day,etc.......and 20% who shouldn't be there.....that's 27 odd planes to worry about.....
'Nother reason why I don't go to the Birdsville races ....who wants to mix it with them? 'Specially if they're flying Bonanzas!!!!!!!!!
