A few from Sun n Fun. Having a ball here in the States, been all over South East US. Anyway Sun n Fun wasn't huge this year, a lot of aircraft missing, blamed on the economy, however was still the biggest airshow and more aircraft that I have ever seen in one place. I will make it to Oshkosh one day...
Enjoy
Turning Close base for 27R
Awesome Custom Pitts model 12 (440+HP on the dyno - engine worked by Monte Barret.
My favourite Warbird - first time I had seen one in the flesh, they are Huuuuge!
Couple of Wildcats
More Skyraider goodness
CAF's Faux B24 (edited to reflect it being a B24, not B17)
Pitts pair
Greg Poe in his Ethanol powered MX2
Aerobatic Bo
Sean Tucker 10ft off the deck doing his triple ribbon cut (after first flying under, over and under them
Patty Wagstaff

Stallion 51 was there with Crazy Horse 2 and was part of the USAF heritage Flight. I didn't take any photos of this one as I went to the Tyndal AFB airshow a month ago and saw the USAF heritage flight with a P-51, Mustang, F4 and F22. Now that was awesome. The one at Sun n Fun was "only" and F-16 and P-51.
Night airshow piccies. this was a three ship "Aerostars"Yak 52 team.
Night airshow - four ship Aeroshell Texan team
Sexiest Civilian aircraft ever built (IMNSHO)
One for Chumbu Chuckles - You now need to add a C-196 to the list of Cessna Tail draggers you need to fly!
Runway reflections in a Stearmans nose
One for Dr Forkie
Another MX2 - yes I do indeed love them!
Hope you enjoyed.
Cheers

Sorry, I know it was a B24 not B17!!!!!! Idiot. Too many Bundy's whilst editing photos. Yes I managed to get a bottle of Bundy over here for ANZAC day! Myself a NZer, two Canadians, two Yanks and a Belgian celebrated in the best tradition with a gunfire breakfast! Now that is the way to start a Sun n Fun day!
Actually the B24 is not actually a B24. It is one of the first models pre B24(can't remember the actual designation). Doesn't have bomb bay doors, and you may notice the engines are different, but perhaps is even more historical than a genuine B24 as it is one of the first aircraft off the assembly line that proved the concept. However it does look and sound awesome! No idea why I labelled it B17... Apologies to all.
I took around 2000 photos over the three days I was there and still going through them all.
Cheers

drunkensailor,
it is a second hand EOS 30D with a Canon IS 70 - 300 lens. Quality isn't that great and I got the camera dirty at a previous airshow and I need to get the body cleaned. Will pay a professional to do that as I don't want to wreck the image thingy...
you want to see some nice photos go to www.warbirdz.net. Glenn Alderton is the owner / phototgrapher extrordinaire. He has had lots of photos published in local mags and some overseas. I have got some tips off him on taking photos but I simply don't take enough or practice enough to take good ones. Doesn't really worry me as I just use them as screen savers on the computer and it is good to know that I actually took them, even if they aren't as sharp or well composed as the pro's.
Here are a couple from Tyndall AFB airshow a month or so ago.
F22 - yes the display it puts on is as awesome as everyone says it is!
An my favourite Jet fighter. Nothing looks as tough as an F-4, again in my not-so-humble opinion. I feel very lucky ot have seen one up close and personal and flying. The QF-4's are about to start being replaced by QF-16's or so I was told. So they won't be flying for very much longer...
One of the most awesome sights I have seen at an airshow. The yanks certainly know how to turn it on...

Does anyone other than the FTDK know what the circular devices are behind the left wing root of the FTDK?

Also are there for easy access as you leave the aircraft, or as you are in your 'directors chair' sitting next to the trailing edge of the wing.
Pyro
Joker 10 is closest, they are in fact flare dispensers. Only other time I've seen them was in a magazine article about a restored Doctor Killer which also had them installed. Apparently it was a factory option way back then. Unable to find an on line reference.
Silly Old Git
prospector, yes , you can see hes got the good sense to plunk it into the dirt and not float over it. Good little film for C-185 "Aces"
What did you think of the Seneca going in there? I guess its only a Cherokee six after all...
