Throttle in the middle on a Beaver...or do you really think Beechcraft just unilaterally decided to do it that way with no precedent?

No the throttle in the middle is OK same on Daks, but the Throttle has the pitch knob and Pitch the throttle knob , make it hard if just operating by feel in a higher than normal pressure situation !! maybe only Kiwi's do this backwards.

Possibly a stuffup (LAME or otherwise - ref windows thread...) You'll note that in the original beaver pic (!) on the previous page, the throttle has a throttle knob, and the pitch a pitch knob.

The GPS unit just looks wrong on that panel. Ruins it.

I know they are useful and helpful and if you are the mad doctor, downright essential. But here it just ruins the whole look.

Peter, on closer inspection the whole panel is different. G-CMGD looks like it's had a refit somewhere along the line

Specially as they nicked some bits from a kid's Mecano set to make the mount for the 296!

The 296 is the best instrument on that panel.

1 throttle, 1 set of pedals!

Spoken like a true member of the Y generation.

I guess you'd be much more at home in something with a cockpit that looks like a Lexus, Cirrus perhaps.

You might want to try reading this: http://www.pprune.org/d-g-general-av...ng-pprune.html

As without a 50" widescreen monitor, it is hard to appreciate the beauty... I can only see about 2 gauges on screen at a time
