Yes, one trip a week to Japan and the rest of the time sailing, scuba diving, fishing off Cairns and eating fresh barramundi, washed down with a fine Chardonnay at the Yorki's Knob Yacht Club.

Which bright spark said it was a bad idea joining AO?

Cartexchange - Take a VR and chill pill sweetheart...you are so fast to snap at anyone on these forums. I think you are due for your annual shag.

You know what I mean't by my original question. I wanted to know how the changeover from AO to QF went. What the thoughts are of the crew etc. How the service has been running ? Thoughts on the new NRT hotel etc.

Classic Dick - See you @ sunday sesh for a coldie and a kick a$$ sunset

Hi there fellow AO crew
I have been on Annual leave since 3/7 and only did one BNE rtn on 2/7 in the QF uniform and new service. Would also be interested to know how it is all going. Has everyone settled into the new routine yet? Has it slowly got a little easier?
Cheers!

Thank you for your enlightened comments.

I stated a fact that you and others of your ilk are trying not to face!

You ARE contract staff just like the Thai base.(Addecco)

The day you are employed as full QF employee is the day you can wear that uniform and know that you really do belong!

And you wonder why you are all being marginalised.

I can tell you that the majority of AO crew are streets ahead of the service standards of most long-haul flights crewed by 'those who belong'.

Cartexchange - I worked for Qantas for many many years before this flying the same routes as you. It's no different. We are not contracted crew - your colleagues on the 11month contracts at L/H are contract crew. We are full time employees. Everything is the same at AO just many more smiling faces over this side of the fence.

Don't hate us doll - it was your own people who trained us to this very high standard ( which we maintain ).

Have a great day, and good luck with your overdue VR application.

Re:Change over

All going real well from what I worked before i went on AL.
As for biting back at cartexchange let it go cause i am sure that u are better than that.
Yeh we may have been turned into a wetlease company which none of the staff had a hand in. We all applied to work for AO years ago before any mention of jet* int. So not sure why others have a go at us.
BUT now that we operate QF flights offering QF products & yes wearing the QF uniform, we will do so with pride regardless of what Qantas have install for Australian Airlines wetlease. They wont make us QF as then its becomes to expensive. Future - who knows. No one ever expected to wearing a QF uniform 4 years ago......
QF are lucky to have those past crew that have left AO cairns in order in continue flying out from southern bases on less conditions + no staff travel.
Good luck

what the F@@@@@@@@
We have a new AO wet lease company that threatens my conditions by lowering them and you expect me and the rest of the QF mainline crew to welcome you !
Listening to you all going on about the QF uniform makes me sick to my stomach!
Are you proud to wear the uniform of crew that you are helping to undermine their conditions!
I am well aware that you all will do anything to preserve your jobs, but don't rub it into our noses by making silly and stupid comments like " I wonder how the merger is going" ( IT WAS NOT A MERGER) so dont delude yourselves.

AO Wetlease...

Does that make AO FAs "wetbacks"?
There are definitely a lot of similarities

Oh for goodness sakes cartexchange.........you are worried about AO flying 5 old 767's to Japan ex Cairns ???

What about JETSTAR international ? I would hate to see what you have to say about them.

Also no-one has said anything about the qf uniform on here except that we will wear it with pride. I think you are the deluded one sweetheart ! Especially if you think you can still get around in that boomerang dress with the rear load you are carrying....and yes....I've seen you.

Daaaarling Sonique
The girdle holds in the boomerangs quite well thanks....... but I can just imagine what the tropical heat must do to the nether regions when you wear the boomerang dress.
As far as jetstar goes, they have had it hard and I feel sorry for them!
The big difference is they never entered via the BACK door..........
