Fuel shortage at Canberra airport?
Does anyone know if there was a fuel shortage at Canberra aiport this morning and if they were diverting flights to Sydney to refuel?

Surprised you didn't just use the phone to call up BP or Shell rather than trying to get the information out of an international aviation website - I am not sure that some of the other 50,000 viewers of this site today can answer that - but you could call Terry Snow!

Mmmm, sounds like a case of Chinese whispers .....
Thick fog in Canberra yesterday lifting to a broken base at 100-200' (what a great time of the year to be doing the runway extension ie no ILS!). Persisted well into the morning. Arriving aircraft holding, waiting for the cloud base to get above LLZ minima. Eventually run out of HOLDING fuel and divert to SYD.
So kim50w if you heard that 'aircraft were diverting to SYD from CBR because they ran out of fuel' it's not that the airport ran out fuel - it's because fog and low cloud prevented aircraft from landing and they reached the point were they had no more holding fuel and diverted to SYD. Very common occurence this time of year in CBR.
