Regulatory Atrocity Uncovered!

The July/August edition of Australian Flying includes the usual Backlash spray about CASA. It quotes what is described as a ‘blistering rebuke’ by the AAT of the CASA people running the matter - they had overlooked an amendment to a CAO that was relevant to the case.

The spray ends with: “That just about says it all, doesn’t it?”

Well, no actually.

The reporter should have mentioned that the AAT decided to uphold CASA's decision.

It might also have been appropriate to mention that the decision is 6 years old.

Inconvenient context is just that, and remains so notwithstanding selective quotation.

Hmmm, yes it is a real problem staying relevant when things are getting better.
