Quick Question

Got a quick question for those military types.
Watching an episode of JAG recently and heard the quote
"Bracket right. Maintain angels 15." relating to two F18's trying to intercept an enemy plane.

Anyone have any idea what this means.

Regards in advance

Lotsa

Gotta love JAG. Harman Rab has it covered. That guy can land his fighter on my storm tossed carrier any time even with his loss of night vision :-)

"Bracket right" = You offset to the right, I'll go left. Bad dude should pass between us.

"Angels 15" = 15 thousand feet, not FL150. All fighting is done on QNH. Don't have the time to go through transitions when you're fighting between 5000 and 40,000 feet. You want to know how far above the ground you are, therfore QNH is the go.

Was under the impression that Bracket Right was a maneuver where you and your wingman are being attacked from the rear. One fighter then turns away from his wingman drawing the attacker after him. The wingman then turns in behind the attacker and blasts him of the others tail. Also known as a Sandwich. The Right part just tells you which way to turn.

...That would be 'Break right', and only a particularly dumb bandit would get caught in a sandwich.

I thought that they aren't because that would just end the whole show, and they haven't made enough money yet.

Is that still on telly?

Must be one of the shows that SCB & Imparja 'decided' not to broadcast.
