AWU Preparing to bargain away "Parity" at Avalon

Seems the AWU are prepared to go to almost ANY lengths to get a deal up in their least well represented site of Avalon.

The "Parity" provison that ensures Avalon workers receive the same pay as their QF counterparts appears to be top of the list of bargaining pieces that they are prepared to sacrifice on behalf of the workers.

By surrendering the "Parity Provison" the AWU is hoping that it can secure a deal with Forstaff for an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement prior to the application of the new legislation.

Yet again they seem happy to sacrifice the conditions of employment won by workers at the site in the name of selling them out for a cut price deal.

Luckily, with a minority of the workforce being members of the winscreen smashers this latest bid at infamy is going to be difficult to sell to the masses but the smoke screens should make interesting viewing at least.

Thumbs down Facts

The Awu has not spoken to Forstaff about this at all this is just more rubbish the ALAEA have come up with as members are leaving them quicker than they can sign up new members. We were also not the ones that were being paid a share of Forstaffs payroll, who is in who's pocket. Also thanks to the ALAEA Qantas and Forstaff have called of talks today.
