Unhappy Fairwell Joe Mikus

To those in Gliding, GA and RAA around southern Queensland today we lost a unique character in aviation.

Joe Mikus was tragically killed in a workplace accident today.

His love of aviation has been from real planes to gliders, ultralights to scaled models and through the years has taught a large number of new pilots to fly from around the world, including me.

A loveable larrikin, who will be greatly missed. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family and close friends.

No doubt he is up there now seeing what the VNE is on his new wings and wether they are rated for aero's.

We'll miss you mate!
