Domestic Jet ops
Just wondering what the standard clearance procedures re Start and Push are for domestic ops and where is the reference in the AIP?
Is it standard at major airports only to ask for start and push from Ground, or do you just need to tell the LAME/Tug to push and he goes when its clear.
Thanks

AIP ENR 1.1 Section 4:
Engine Start. . . The Pilot In Command of an aircraft must request approval to start engines when the requirement is notified by ATIS, NOTAM, AIP Supplement, ATC or listed in ERSA.
Push Back. . . The Pilot In Command must obtain an approval to push back where this manoeuvre is necessary prior to taxiing.
So therefore, it is not generally necessary to request start clearance, only pushback. If any start restrictions apply, they will generally be found in the ERSA. For example, from the ERSA, only 1 eng may be started until at the disconnect point at Syd.
QF procedures require a start clearance for International services out of Sydney to allow the tug to get into position.
