From what I recall, even to get into the twins one had to do their time out at the garbage dump.............. Sorry, Barneys dump is a klik down the road.......... I meant to say, Merriden international Airport (the flies still know how to navigate there to bother you CONSTANTLY) for what seemed an eternity. Oh, and we won't mention that one has to say three "Hail Marys" as you drive in through the front gate for commiting sins the night befor down at the northside hotel!!
Ahh those memories.......... The students were great, lovely kids - just remember to take a packet of tick tacks into the grub and insist they have three or four while you do the walk-around before getting in close and comfortable.
I know that Barney has moved on, and so has the other director (a chinese lady - cant recall her name), I dont know if the accountant is still there - surname sounds like hoodlim. But if they can expand to double their size, good news for them.

One of the current jet drivers was one of the twin drivers who was some time before that one of the single drivers.
Do you know of any other GA orgainisation expanding at such a rate willing to employ people today based on their quals and not who they know in the company.
Is BAFTA offering such oppourunities ?
PS Never met BF or that other lady you mentioned, they have not been part of the scene for years, however I do understand during their time they treated the staff and students poorly so I can understand it if you still carry a chip on your shoulder. The only thing which has carried on is the name of the college.

How do most instructors move up to multi training at China Southern ? Do they leave to get the multi command required to get META then come back, or does the company provide the necessary multi hours to qualify for META ?

No chip on my sholder now mate, it was an enlightening experience to say the least. I look back and laugh!!
The company I work for activly promotes progression through the ranks from basic nothing to GR1 META, IFR, AEROS etc, in two to three years.
Counter,
It was a rewarding occupation in CSWAFC - Loved the students, we, the instructors, gave them all names like "Skelator" "Nail man" etc.... reflecting on their personalities. Also other little things such as the bus was nicknamed the "RNRU" - those that have worked there will have a giggle at that, but its not for public knowledge - sorry. The breath killer was the ONLY problem I had with the students - a result of the copius number of packets of noodles they used to buy for lunch (at $0.50 a packet (?)) - BF never used to supply them lunch. I remember the roadkill they picked up, tried to cook, gave up - and threw it on the roof of their accomodation. They were all very hardworking, eager........
...........what am I telling you for - you know the ESL students as much as I do!!, great bunch of kids. Like all places I have worked, I have walked away richer for the experience. Just gotta love stories like the cost to build the great entrance to the airport at MDN, and there was instructor accomodation shortage!! look back and laugh with 20/20 hind-sight now.

You say that you started where I work over three years ago...........? I have a sneaky suspition you are not there now. Have you moved interstate?, or to a Key Player position for an Adelaide company?
