Question TSA vs FAA ATP for foreign mortals

Greetings all

I am planning (or was, depending on the facts Im looking for) to do my FAA ATP license at AllATPs.

I am not a US Citizen but was once a Permanent Resident (I allowed my GC to lapse) and still hold FAA Commercial AMEL and ASEL with a CFII rating. I completed the written Part 121 ATP exam in April of 2002 and would like to now do the checkride.

HOWEVER, I see the following posted on AllATPs:

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued new regulations, effective October 20, 2004, that require flight schools—including ATP—to verify students' proof of U.S. citizenship prior to beginning training (Flight or Simulator). To satisfy the requirements of this regulation, pilots must bring a valid, unexpired United States Passport to the ATP training center.

I understand that a TSA security clearance is required before any flight training is to take place in the US for foreign nationals. BUT, from this I understand that the FAA ATP is now only obtainable by US Citizens? Is that the case?

Did you try just emailing All ATPS and asking them?
