![Question](https://www.pprune.org/images/infopop/icons/icon5.gif)
I have an FAA Waiver for night colour vision
Hold an FAA Class 1 unrestricted (passed tower light signal test around 1990)
Question is are there any pilots out there with similar waivers who have made it to airlines/ charter/ freight corporate jets etc ?? A medical examiner in Florida told me that he did know of pilots flying for airlines with similar waivers on their medicals but that was some time ago.
Is it possible for me to get a decent job or will the insurance company say "no way" ?
Have tried asking direct but no responses - ambition would be to fly for somebody like Ameriflight but cannot get a definite answer

Johnmcg,
I went through the same bullsh*t in 1991 with color vision in Oz. I am in the States now and have not had any probs. I have also undergone laser surgery and had no medical problems. If you already have an FAA class 1 then do what I do, don't say anything unless asked. Once you hold an FAA class 1 then that is the end of the story for the time being.
NOBODY will give you direct answer unless it is a FAA medical.
According to the system you are not a risk, so don't get intimidated by it.
Good luck,
DW
