"Hank" Rotherham, DSO

Today's Toronto Globe and Mail records the death of Geoffrey Arthur ("Hank") Rotherham, DSO, OBE, CM, RCN (ret'd), ex-RN, at the age of 96.

He was the RN Observer who navigated the Martin Maryland from Hatston in Orkney in atrocious weather to Norway to check reports that "Bismarck" had put to sea. She had. This led to the chase by HMS Hood and others, and the sinking of "Bismarck".
