Lost again is it Sir? Wittering's still about 10 miles that-a-way...

"Good heavens, sergeant, is that one of the new laser target designators? They really are a marvel of miniaturisation!"
"No sir, that's my pencil..."

"I know it sounds silly asking where it is, sergeant, but as a Harrier driver I've never had to actually USE a runway before."

The MO's insistence on administering pre-flight eye tests was seen as a somewhat short-sighted policy whenever a "scramble" was ordered.

"See that UAV there, sir? That's your job gone, that is!"

"So if that's your aeroplane up there sir, and you're standing here, like, who's bloody taken it? You didn't leave the keys in it again, did you sir??" Not in an area like this, anyway!"

"and we're going to have a trellis on the south side of the hangar there, sir, so we can grow a clematis, which the lads think will set off the camouflage a treat".

You really don't need the map Sir, the station barber is the last door in that building over there, by the hangar. And while they are giving you a trim, might I suggest getting rid of that moustache?

Ah one of the new breed of Harrier pilots. No need for a map Sir, you can smell your way to the toilets, they're down there.

"Despite what they say, sir, the battle's over there, not on the edge of your map."

Your 5 Star Hotel is just down the road, past the Army tents.

So they'll come from that way, and they'll have red stars on them. Wow, this is so much more complicated than OCU. Thanks Sarn't!

Harrier? Now, funnily enough, there's a male hen harrier right over there. If you look carefully, you can just see the white patch on its rump.

A rarity: a flying officer on his operational Squadron. In today's Air Force he would be a minimum of PAS flight lieutenant before arriving at the same stage.

Well, I suppose that hut over there is your new "cockpit", but you won't need all that gear to fly a Drone mate!
