I must add, it is nice to get a picture that has the ability to be commented on... some of them one wonders if the poster ever thought of how many responses it could get

First, for those who haven't done an image search the photo:
Spoiler

Thank you to Nutty for his kind words.

Special mentions to
MPN - "Sir, shouldn't the White Ensgign be flown at the stern?", "Don't worry, lad ... we'll drive it in reverse on the Parade." - apparently it could only go astern.
Big Pistons - No son you don’t get sea duty allowance on this posting,
Nutty - Sir, I am posted to Africa, I cannot wait to see what type of land ships they have there, I have been told I am going to be on ships of the desert
Treaders - Permission to come aboard Sir... , Permission granted. Ninepence please...

Chu chu came very close with 'There are fords, and there are bridges, and then there's the Ford bridge.'

... but as a student of naval history it has to be :

Fitliker: Not sure that handbrake turns will ever replace Nelson’s strategic crossing the T’s

CST is on its way as soon as the stokers have got the steam pressure up for the catapult.

PM sent as the bulb's gone in the Aldis lamp.
