Putin keeps painting himself deeper and deeper into a corner - making increasingly difficult (impossible) to get out and maintain power (and perhaps his life).
I shudder to think what he might do when it becomes clear that he has absolutely no way out.
I just pray sanity prevails amount those he commands to carry out his "this is the end" orders...

Beamer,

From the BBC Moscow correspondent.

One Russian newspaper offers a useful guide to Russia’s most prominent “mushroom pickers” – or rather ‘mushroom cloud pickers’: individuals calling for nuclear escalation against the West. #ReadingRussia

That will include the reservoirs and drinking water.

Sentinel-2 passes in June of 2022 (left) and June of 2024 (right).

The damage to the Crimean peninsula from the loss of the Nova Khakovka Dam is evident. With no reservoir to catch the seasonal rain and snow melt runoff, Crimea is left barren and dry.

Russia withdraws protection from Crimean Bridge, says Ukrainian Navy spokeperson

"They previously had 10 to 14 ships and boats at sea at the same time to guard the bridge, and now there are zero. They have to somehow solve this problem," said Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Captain 3rd Rank Dmytro Pletenchuk in an interview with Radio NV on June 12.

"They are trying to limit maneuverability as much as possible, narrowing the passage to better control this part of the sea and protect the bridge," Pletenchuk said. "So they are constructing passive barriers and engineering structures using barges with booms. The goal is to counteract."

Earlier, British intelligence reported that Russia had placed eight barges near the southern side of the Crimean bridge to protect it from Ukrainian drone attacks.

Defense Express analyzed the video of the destruction of the Russian tugboat Saturn, released by HUR, and concluded that the Magura V5 was used to practice navigating through the booby traps.

S400's and S300 are area defence weapons whilst Pantsir is a point defence weapon. To be truly effective to the claimed operational range (close-in a mile or so out to hundreds of miles), the system relies on full integration with long range radar as well as local radar. Track while scan radar looks at the big picture, is mounted high up such that the horizon is as far as possible allowing maximum time for an engagement. Targeting information is then passed to a different radar for target acquisition and lock to launch and guide the selected SAM to it's designated target. The long range missiles get mid-course correction from the TWS radar and when in missile seeker range, the missile seeker switches on it's on-board radar to search then lock on to the target for autonomous guidance.

That integration between the long range radars, command and control nodes, short range area defence radars, missile launchers, robust comm's links, power generators - all have to work flawlessly.
The long range radar is highly susceptible to anti-radiation missiles during a SEAD attack because they cannot be moved quickly and even turning them off is little consolation as weapons such as HARM remembers the tx location prior to the switch--off. Putting the radar high up gives the incoming all the more time to process the location and home on jamming etc. lowering the radar reduces the distance to the radar horizon and therefore shortens the time for detection, Which is why missile speed is important. Incoming HARM mach 3-4 outgoing SAM mach 3-4, target acquisition, launch gives precious little time to respond.

Hence why Ukraine went after the OTH radar and S400 radars to essentially divide and conquer. Take out any of the components or degrade the system with EW, saturation attack from multiple directions etc. and performance is degraded to point of ineffective.

Hence why F35 is so important to reduce the SAM reaction time to virtually zero during a SEAD attack.

I have no idea where, when and why this has happened, but the story is intriguing.

Are the russkies really flying around in FJ's low level hunting for slow and low drones.

Well, he could also take the way out of that other little painter, shoot himself in his bunker... I am sure Russia can still rustle up enough petrol to burn his corpses.

Russia has deployed the S-500 to Ukraine, I wonder how much better they are, no doubt we will soon find out.

Poland has introduced a military buffer zone along the border to prevent do-gooders helping refugees from Belarus crossing into Poland.

With the new S500's, I wonder if they are running short of the 400's...?

And that demonstration march in NYC about 'Nuking Washington':
Looked to me like lots of Battle aged men in that march.

Maybe they should do less Talking and do some real Walking on the front line...!
