In Italy, there’s a significant activation of military equipment that has been in storage. Recently, satellite images have surfaced online, revealing Italian warehouses designated for long-term military storage. You can observe that many of these warehouses were either partially or completely empty.
The primary equipment being moved from storage includes Leopard 1 tanks, M113 armored personnel carriers, and M109L self-propelled guns. Rome has not released any official statements regarding this large-scale reactivation of ground combat equipment. However, BulgarianMilitary.com speculates that a portion of these combat vehicles, particularly the most suitable ones, will likely end up in Ukraine. It’s also plausible that the equipment not currently operational is undergoing repairs. But, as we mentioned, there is no official information explaining why these warehouses are being emptied.
Italy is actively supplying military aid to Ukraine, although some transfers are not officially reported. Previously, information about the provision of such equipment to Ukraine’s armed forces often came to light through journalistic investigations or when Italian combat vehicles were spotted in the Ukrainian army.
For instance, a Puma armored personnel carrier was destroyed near the Belogorivka region. The delivery of these APCs to the Ukrainian Armed Forces had not been previously announced, indicating a secret transfer of such equipment from Italy. While it’s a possibility that Italian tanks, armored vehicles, and self-propelled howitzers might be sent to Ukraine, Italy has shown that their domestic defense needs take priority. For instance, eight months into the war in Ukraine, Rome had 722 M113 armored personnel carriers in its inventory. Rather than dispatch them to the front lines, these vehicles underwent demilitarization under the D3 project.
The Italian Army decommissioned these combat vehicles through a detailed process of demilitarization, disassembly, and disposal, spearheaded by NSPA – the NATO Support and Procurement Agency. Italy managed to earn 3 million euros [approximately $2.9 million] by selling eight million kilograms of recycled scrap on the international metal markets. It’s noteworthy that this process also saved 41,000 tons of CO₂ emissions. Additionally, the recycling of non-ferrous and ferrous metals bolstered the circular economy. This intricate process demands meticulous actions, including the cutting of many critical components to ensure that the military machines cannot be reused. The condition of stored war machines revealed by satellite imagery remains questionable.
This issue is significant, especially considering the fallout just eight months into the conflict. An attempted deal to sell Italian Leopard 1 tanks to a South African buyer collapsed due to their poor quality. These tanks were kept in the city of Lenta.Initial observations show extensive rust on the tank chains. Removing rust is a complex, time-consuming task that could span from three months to a year. Despite this, the current technological and operational status of these stored Italian armored vehicles remains uncertain.
However, the tanks in Lenta have a notable advantage — they’re housed in a facility specializing in the repair of heavy armored fighting vehicles. This proximity to repair resources means they could potentially be operational in under three months. Unfortunately, BulgarianMilitary.com does not have updated information on the fate of these tanks.

Does this count as a red on red?
Positioning AA guns and firing them towards own city is always a competent idea.

A Russian Telegram blogger complained bitterly about the quality of a FPV jammer. Antennas placed to damage each other, inadequate cooling, heated parts in heat shrink wrapping, poor soldering.
The manufacturer has received an advance payment of 500 million for mass production.

Another Russian says these devices (called Groza or Storm) often arrive broken and they have to completely disassemble and rebuild them. This includes replacing the “evil” antennas and adding cooling, which sometimes is completely absent….
The Russians inexplicably continue to post technical specifications of their EW jammers pretty much daily on Telegram.
More information is inexplicably posted by the Russians about their new EW jammers. This one is called “Barrier”, and was effective at 150m for a 915 MHz test drone.
Also the capability of two drone detectors is mentioned, with “Asel” rated reliable at 1km, but “Bulat” not…..

The UK has handed over a new aid package to Ukraine,
It includes 80 air defense missiles, 1 million rounds of ammunition, 20 amphibious all-terrain vehicles, 20 mine-clearing systems, about 30 boxes of spare parts and consumables, surveillance drones, and uniforms.

@ORAC,
is the VNA shown on the 3rd picture part of the jammer or is it an external device used by the blogger to analyse the characteristics of the high frequency amplifier, the waveguide and the antenna?
This is a low cost VNA (+/- 250 EUR) produced in China.
If it's the former, the VNA is used as a rudimentary spectrum analyser and is not the best choice for that task.
If it's the latter, then the standing wave ratios (SWR) shown in the picture are not very good for the selected frequencies of 840 MHz, 915 MHz and 940 MHz.
The SWR value is an indirect measurement of how much of the signal is actually absorbed by the antenna and how much is reflected back to the amplifier, which can be detrimental to it.
A SWR = 1 means that nothing is reflected and 100% of the signal reaches the antenna (in the picture, that is the case for frequencies around 730 MHz).
The SWR of 2.90 at 840 MHz means that 49% of the signal is reflected, as per the formula: Vr/Vf = (SWR -1) / (SWR + 1)
At 915 MHz with SWR=3.86, 59% of the signal is reflected and at 940 MHz with SWR=4.18, 61 % is reflected.
To give you a reference, for marine or aviation VHF transmitters, a SWR between 1 and 1.5 is considered good and a SWR above 3 is likely to kill your amplifier.
915 MHz is a standard frequency for commercial drones, thus I think that the 3 frequencies that are analysed are close to the frequencies actually targeted by the jammer.
So, yes, the antenna is not up to the job for these frequencies.

Two unrelated sources also claim that the commander of the Southern Military District, Colonel General Gennady Anashkin, was wounded.

Details of yesterday's strike [in Luhansk]:
★ Ukraine used French SCALP cruise missiles and hit a high-level officer meeting of the army grouping 'South.'
★ 13 Russian fascists dead. 26 wounded including Colonel-General Gennady Anashkin, commander of the Southern Military District.

US House Intel Chairman Mike Turner & 12 co-signers (GOP & Dem) have sent Secretary of Defense Austin a letter asking that the Biden Admin lift the embargo on Ukraine using US weapons to strike strategic targets within Russian territory.
They're also asking for additional Ukrainian pilots to be trained on the F-16 in the US, and for expedited delivery of additional air defense resources (noting that Ukraine is asking for at least 7 more Patriot batteries).

The occupiers continue to use scorched earth tactics in Donbas In the video, you can see Russian shelling in the area of the village of Bilogorivka, Luhansk region, using a large number of Grad anti-aircraft missiles and Solntsepok rocket launchers (you can see the level of intensity yourself)

Video of train. It’s beginning to feel like January and February of 2022 all over again, with a Russian military train recently spotted near the city of Yefremov in the Tula region heading southeast towards the border with the Sumy region of northeastern Ukraine.
The military equipment seen on the train, which includes bridging as well as transport and logistics equipment, all have the new tactical marking seen recently during the Russian offensive operations in the Kharkiv region; indicating that this operation…. [is] likely a large-scale plan by Russia for further operations in the north and northeast of Ukraine.

New threat assessment by the Norwegian Police Security Service and Intelligence Service warns of increased threat of sabotage against actors involved in Norwegian arms deliveries to Ukraine…..

"We assess that Russia now sees it as beneficial carrying out sabotage in European countries in order to weaken Ukrainian defense capabilities"
