Ukraine War Thread Part 2
As far as cutting Russian supply-lines, I wonder why there has been no mention of HIMARS being used to attack road/rail-supplies to both Tokmak and Melitopol.. The current situation would allow HIMARS GMLRS to attack supply routes to both cities easily from positions safely behind the front lines ( 10-20 km ), but there has been no mention of this on any sites I watch.

Putin - What he is doing is evil
NY Times 15 Sept
"Nearly every Ukrainian I spoke to in Kyiv was at once exhausted by the war and passionately determined to recover every inch of their Russian-occupied territory — but no one had clear answers about the road ahead, the painful trade-offs that await, only certainty that defeat would mean an end to Ukraine’s democratic dream and a smashing of the post-World War II era that had produced a Europe more whole and free than ever before in its history.
What Putin is doing in Ukraine is not just reckless, not just a war of choice, not just an invasion in a class of its own for overreach, mendacity, immorality and incompetence, all wrapped in a farrago of lies. What he is doing is evil."
and much more for the US people …
concluding:-
"So, dear reader, you can be for more Western intervention in Ukraine, or you can be against it. But either way, have no doubt that Vladimir Putin’s savaging of Ukraine is a direct attack on this whole scene, this taken-for-granted normality, this ordinary miracle."

Nothing that I have said excludes the points you mention. Tokmak is a major rail-hub and only 30-40 km away from safe Himars firing-points. That apart, if you can track a major convoy on these routes that have to be carrying very heavy loads of supplies. -and I'm sure they can - then you blow the road and rail in front and destroy the whole convoy while it is stopped. The result is major loss of supplies plus lots of destroyed transport blocking the routes which then need to be cleared before repairs can start - lasting at least a day or two I would guess.. To me , a loss of even a day of supplies seems to be a major win when we know that the RuA has been consistently complaining of lack of shells for weeks.
The AFU seem to have decided that it is just as effective to damage bridges etc. so as to prevent the Z force from getting ammunition out of dumps, then attack those. Uses less rockets IMO if you want to target the dumps with HIMARS. Other methods of attack are also an option.

Whilst reports vary widely - and his own website today putting up an undated video of of Kadyrov walking about in the rain - there Telegram sources reporting he died in hospital last night at 11pm.
Russian Telegram channels now reporting a large number of expensive vehicles entering the Central Clinical Hospital in Moscow* where Kadyrov is/was reportedly undergoing examination/treatment. According to the channels, the vehicles either have Chechnya license plates or have Chechen residents inside.
Supposition is that a succession struggle has started and his death won’t be confirmed until his replacement is in place. His son is only 17 years and unlikely to succeed.
“First Prigozhin. Now Kadyrov." Telegram channels are writing.
Prigozhin and Kadyrov were the only two people in Russia with significant power and their own private heavily armed armies.
If Putin tries to impose his own man, to disperse and send the Chechen units into the front line to be eaten up, will be able to keep control over Chechnya or will it rebel again - and is the Russian army in a position to fight it?

Video report.
Russia lures impoverished Cubans with a promise of jobs & money, takes away their passports when they arrive, conscripts them into the Russian army and sends them as cannon fodder to the frontlines to fight Russia's fascist war in Ukraine.

Vlad couldn't afford to achieve parity in salary, and the narco cartel thugs have enough civilian targets to work with in Mexico to keep them happy. Right now, seems a bad idea to visit or overfly Vlads kingdom unless you are into being press-ganged. Presumably all the cubans that have been conscripted speak impeccable Vladian so the natives can actually coordinate with them. That should be interesting in the field. About the only people Vlad won't conscript are Moscow and St Pete resident Russians, who are living on borrowed time; what of Vlads actions to date would give assurance that he will not conscript every Russian not called Putin, Medvedchuk, or Lavrov 10 seconds after the election gets called in March?
It always seemed strange to me that there was a Chechen leader so true to Putin after the first and second Chechen wars: was he really representative of Chechens ? His father did, after all, switch sides , offering his services to Putin, before being assassinated one year after becoming Chechen president.
Give it 30 days before Mir breaks out, and if Vlad has a hand in the replacement of the late great oedematous leader, even less time.
I have no idea why they are doing this unless it is to remove a tourist attraction or it Is a demolition exercise.

“Assuming zero corruption and money laundering”
Big ask, but it’s a starting point….
Big ask, but it’s a starting point….
Russia has spent $25.6 billion on compensation to families of deceased soldiers and $21 billion on compensation to the wounded.
Putin has previously signed a decree earlier in the year ordering the payout of $68,800 to the families of deceased and $41,300 to soldiers that are wounded. Using this we can get a glance at potential Russian casualties assuming zero corruption and money laundering…….
According to Russian expenditures, Russian casualties in the past 18 months are as follows:
KIA: 372,093
WIA: 508,474
Total Casualties: 880,567

1. Vlad's Lada largesse doesn't extend to Wagners team, they are discarded like sabots, and they lost some 70,000 of whatever they are in Bakhmut.
2. Vlad isn't going to be paying the Tic-Toc team compensation, that is up to the Chechen govt to sort out,
3. Vlad treats Donbassians and Luhankovites as Russians only to the extent he can pillage their resources. The chance of Russian tax payers (a contradiction in terms) paying next of kin in the occupied territories is... not brilliant.
so for that lot that have been left out of the sunflower fertilising review, add 70K+ for Piggies team, a few of Kadyrovians finest dancers that blew themselves up on film, and about 80K+ impressed occupied territory-Girkinites. The Girkinites are the ones that were press-ganged and given Moisin Nagant 98's along with cardboard body armour, and who were ably supported by a 2nd line aiming at their backs, the guys that shot a dozen that were retreating on video.
Russian Mir, you can't beat it!
Total Vladomite casualties are higher, not lower than the analysis done by Forbes I suspect. That is a complete removal of a productive demographic from the country, all to appease one guys inadequacies and compensations, ably supported by his sycophants and supporting staff of criminals pillaging Russian, Ukrainian, & Chechen future wealth to have larger palaces.
Separately, the Forbes figure will be the lowest amount that doesn't embarrass the dear leader too much, the graft and grifting will be hidden from those figures, Vlad is still hoping for a 3-day SMO.
If ‘puffy face’ VVP had succeeded in subjugating Ukraine in the first three days, the Ukrainian population would have been rapidly drafted into the Russian front lines as cannon fodder for his next special military intervention.

The Russian banner says: "Children, kitchen, church. The sense and greatness of a Russian woman".
That's the motto that Hitler declared in September 1934 in his speech before the Women's National Socialist Organization……
He used "Kinder, Küche, Kirche"/"Children, Kitchen, Church". But the last part of the slogan, "Church", was omitted because of anti-religious campaigns during the Nazi era.
However, now in Russia the church is an integral part of Russian propaganda, so there is no need to omit it….

The first deputy chairman of the Russian State Duma's Foreign Affairs Committee, Aleksey Chepa, has put forward a proposal to close Russia's border with European countries that have banned Russian cars from entering their territories.
This measure is supposedly meant to be a response to the actions of the countries that have restricted the access of Russian cars to their territory, he explained.
"We will also have to take a series of steps, let's say, to close the border with these countries, providing no transit, nothing.
“We have to take a number of economic steps in any case. Even if it will be done to the detriment of our interests, we should rigorously raise tariffs for these countries, and let our businessmen look for other markets. We should take all possible political and economic steps in response to the actions of these countries."
As Russians themselves say, such a decision will first of all hit the families and relatives of Russians living on both sides of the border. It is not a secret that it is mainly Russians who travel from the Baltics to Russia and vice versa.

Details: The pro-Russian Telegram channel ChP Sevastopol [Emergencies Sevastopol] reports that explosions were heard in the area of Fiolent.
In turn, the Telegram channel Krymskiy veter [Crimean Wind] reports that an explosion occurred on Cape Fiolent in the area of the radio-electronic signals intelligence or the air defence unit – they are located nearby.
It is also reported that ambulances with their sirens on rushed to Fiolent in Sevastopol.
Traffic on the Crimean Bridge is temporarily closed.
UP sources in the intelligence reported that the explosions in Sevastopol are a joint special operation of Defence Intelligence and the Ukrainian Navy.
The so-called "governor of Sevastopol" Mikhail Razvozhayev claims that the smoke in the area of the Southern Bay is a means of camouflage.
"If you see smoke in the area of the Southern Bay, don't worry. According to the [Russian] Black Sea Fleet, they are using standardised aerosol camouflage agents. Yes, the smell is unpleasant, but it is absolutely safe. Everything is fine in the city," he said…..
