More advances, slow but sure, while trying to preserve manpower.

Ukraine's latest production drone, seem a capable bit of kit. I would imagine post war they might find quite a few countries interested in their innovations, especially as battle tested.. If it can do 65km and return, armed it could be a 130km one way flying bomb

All, kindly refrain from public bickering about what is or isn't appropriate material for this thread, it is unbecoming and distracts from discussion of the topic of the thread.

Thanks.

I wonder if they constructed it on the border or inside Polish territory ? If it was inside Poland by 25m or so, this would allow them to use pepper-spray ( or other defensive measures ) on the stone-throwers without any worries about possible diplomatic tiffs with Belarus.* This was a tactic used by the DDR with their inner-German fence ( not the Berlin Wall ).but there, they were shooting the escapees.

"They write that the Belarusian Border Guard used to stop illegal migration, but is now facilitating it."

That's not right. Lukashenko opened up flights from the Middle East to Minsk and then bussed the arriving would-be migrants to the border in order to put pressure on Poland and the EU in revenge for sanctions .

"
Belarus has sent thousands of desperate migrants to its border with Poland in a bid to antagonize the European Union over sanctions imposed last year, in the wake of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s brutal crackdown on political opponents and protesters."

https://www.vox.com/2021/11/14/22781...-poland-crisis

EDIT: * I've just looked at the video and see they are spraying them anyway,. I wonder if any migrants are managing to get over that fence - looks well-constructed .

Sky News Ukraine

For any who have not yet watched the fairly regular Sky News updates on Ukraine, they use a few "Military Analysts" to offer comment/opinion.

Some are better than others, but no matter your view, Sean Bell and Michael Clarke are, in my opinion, two very clear, concise and balanced people who offer a good opinion of what seems to be going on in Ukraine.

If you haven't watched them, give it a google (on YouTube is a good avenue) - just my opinion.

Russia is raising the maximum age at which men can be conscripted from 27 to 30, making more of them liable to serve in the armed forces.

The change was passed by the lower house of parliament on Tuesday.

It still needs to approved by the upper house and by President Vladimir Putin, but this is seen as a formality.

The package of measures comes as Moscow seeks to boost troop numbers to defend territory gained in its invasion of Ukraine last year.

Russia is thought to have sustained heavy casualties in nearly a year-and-a-half of fighting, but the Defence Ministry is reluctant to release figures.

Last autumn, the government announced a mobilisation of 300,000 reservists, but as a result, tens of thousands of men left Russia.

In a separate measure last week, the maximum age at which reservists can be called up was raised, meaning some men will now be considered available for military service until they are 55.

Russian push on Kremennaya, now I searched the name and everything that came up was reporting the push, though most sources appear to be Russian favoured, I could not find a thing to counteract it from the Ukrainian point of view, so I will let you make up your own mind.
