F18 down sadly Pilot lost

Went down in the Mojave Desert, pilot died in the crash

second one in recent days. The previous crash happened in South Carolina.

Rough. Some canyon terrain around Trona, CA (not speculating, but is an area for low-level work)

Sad news indeed, Just watched Top Gun and as the film reminds us, low level training is not without its dangers. Pilots name is the same as one of the captains for the airline I work for as a co incidence. Condolences to family and friends.
