Herr Flick has the relaxed pose of a cat that has had it's tail stood on. Look at his clenched hand... there's a guy that is happy in his skin. Perhaps he is just ensuring that he is a white [knuckled] Russian, not one of those pernicious outer Asiatic federation states, or worse, a Ukrainian "sub-Human untermenschen. Who's the Nazi then? Repeat after me....

At the Uralvagonzavod tank factory in Nizhny Tagil, he probably found a lot of polypropylene tanks for water storage and less in the way of turret poppers, as the Russian economy is lower than a rattlesnakes belly in a wagon rut. Well done Vlad, you are about to be overtaken by Eritrea as a military and economic powerhouse.

yeah yeah, I know, off to JB... it is military, and worth the remonstration from the T!

I will observe that for them to come and kill Americans, they first have to get through Sarah Palin, and her heavily armed buddies up in Alaska, if they intend to make a border incursion somewhere near to where Russians can get to American soil.

Hi Lonewolf, I read somewhere that NVA tactics towards the end of the Vietnam war in regards to aircraft was that every soldier just pointed their rifle straight up and let off a full mag. With hundreds or thousands of soldiers doing that the chance of an aircraft flying into an unaimed bullet was increased. Maybe the Ukrainians could try that.

These Russians are not to be trifled with..
No wonder there was a shoot out at a training unit.

Ecce Homo! Loquitur...
Untrained mobilised Russian soldiers are being held prisoner in a basement in Luhansk oblast after refusing to go back to the front line.
Following a bloody defeat near Lyman, they found that their own side had stolen all their personal equipment.

Why the Kerch bridge is so important.
https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1...007892992.html
Why there was no locomotive on the burning carriages on the bridge.

The Southern front: colored in blue the main supply lines and in yellow GMLRS ranges, which force russia to unload trains far from the front.
Now we're gonna have a closer look at the three locations in the purple pentagons:
• Volnovakha
• Kerch
• Syvash
9/n![](https://threadreaderapp.com/images/1px.png)
The railroad from Donetsk to Volnovakha (colored in orange) is unusable. It's in 120 mm mortar range (yellow circles) and in L119 105 mm howitzer range (green circle). Where the railroad is closest to the front it is even Javelin range - no train can pass here. Not one.
This means the ONLY way for russia to supply its 70,000 troops on the Southern front is by rail over the Kerch bridge. russia neither has the trucks nor the drivers to supply its Southern front by road. There is only one lifeline and it runs over two bridges and if ATACMS
12/n
takes these two bridges out - russia can't hold the South.
Especially with winter fast approaching - because soon russia will not have to transport food for 70,000+ troops, millions of liters of fuel, 100s of tons of ammo, spares and supplies to the South every day, it will
13/n
also have to supply 100s of tons of heating material every day. russian forces in Kherson on the right bank of the Dnipro are already running low on ammo, fuel, food, spares, replacement tanks, etc. because the bridges over the Dnipro have been taken out by GMLRs. But those
14/n
are just 20,000 troops and trucks have to drive only 100 km to pick up supplies - imagine what happens when it is 70,000 troops, 400+ km of distance from rostov-on-don and it is winter.
This is why russia's dictator and his goons are so scared of ATACMS.
15/n
The Kerch railbridge (in red) is a 227 m tied-arch bridge... two ATACMS and she is gone, as attacking ATACMS weigh almost a ton and hit with Mach 4; and then they detonate 215 lb og high explosive.
The bridge will not survive. Even if she would not collapse into the sea, no

3/ Yuri Kvashnin recalls what happened: "When we approached the arches of the Crimean bridge, we heard a bang with an explosion, at first we did not understand what happened - our locomotive "jumped" and the light on the bridge went out immediately!
4/ We looked out the cab window and saw that the tank was on fire near the tail of the train! We had to act! To be honest, at that moment we were not thinking of ourselves at all, the main thing in our minds was to eliminate, to put it out, not to let the fire spread!"
5/ The train consisted of 59 wagons, they managed to detach 25 wagons. The weight of the train was about 4,000 tonnes. But for the professional and concise actions of the locomotive crew, the consequences could have been more tragic.
6/ Nobody panicked, nobody wasted a second and they acted according to their instructions.
Yuri Kvashnin remained in the cab to control the instruments and apply the brakes. And Viktor Proshin, according to instructions, stepped onto the track to visually assess the damage.![](https://threadreaderapp.com/images/1px.png)
7/ He saw that part of the train could be saved and reported the situation to the driver, after which it was decided to unhook the burning cars.
8/ The railwaymen realised that not only did they have to take the surviving part of the train to a safe distance, they also had to secure the burning fuel tanks so that they would not roll off the bridge towards Taman, which could cause even more damage.
9/ "I can still see it all before my eyes! We realised that we had to divert the full tanks, otherwise there would have been a worse picture. We had to run from the locomotive to the wagons several times, the shoes are still heavy.
10/ Each time I got as close as I could, secured part of the train, the rest were taken away. It took us 10 minutes," says Viktor Proshin.
11/ "Do we consider ourselves heroes? No! God forbid, of course, but if something like that had happened to the other crew, they would have done the same thing! What other way is there?"

Derailed train in Russia, seeping methane lit by a stray cigarette? military supply route between Russia and Belarus.
That's a lot of "rebar" in a sleeper.

U.S. considers HAWK air defense equipment for Ukraine
WASHINGTON, Oct 25 (Reuters) - The United States is considering sending older HAWK air defense equipment from storage to Ukraine to help it defend against Russian drone and cruise missile attacks, two U.S. officials told Reuters.
The HAWK interceptor missiles would be an upgrade to the Stinger missile systems - a smaller, shorter range air defense system - that the United States has already sent to blunt Russia's invasion.
The Biden administration would use the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) to transfer the HAWK equipment which is based on Vietnam-era technology, but has been upgraded several times. The PDA allows the United States to transfer defense articles and services from stocks quickly without congressional approval in response to an emergency.
I’m grateful to my 🇪🇸 colleague Margarita Robles for the decision to send 4 Hawk air defense systems to Ukraine. It's quick response for 🇺🇦 request at #Ramstein 6.
There are more Hawks on the way.
Today air defence is a priority not only for Ukraine, but for all of Europe.

Norway arrested a "Brazilian" university researcher at University of Tromso, who studied "hybrid threats". The catch? He's a Russian spy, not a Brazilian professor. More to come soon.….
