No, that was confirmed - now a Kremlin spokesman is saying Putin won’t be speaking in public for “several days”.

One wonders what has, or will, happened to him…

Film showing the surrender helpline and how they go about it, they appear to be getting a few freshly mobilised.

Rumours in the Twitterverse, unconfirmed, that Putin will declare War on Ukraine tomorrow. Might have something to do with him and the top team disappearing for the next few days. Perhaps they have taken up residence in the Führer bunker to avoid the fallout of whatever they do next.

Was the Nordstream pipeline attack the beginning of a tit-fer-tat ‘No more Mr Nice Man’ gloves-off infrastructure war where nothing is too holy? Were they even false flags?

Or is this a demo run to a heavier body-blow slugfest?

Putin could still declare that a land grab was never his aim, merely a sharp war of attrition to show Ukraine what Russia was capable of and that he did not enjoy having his bluff called. All he rest of the unpleasantness was the fault of the military leadership.

70th Birthday magnanimity?

Not sure any of them are capable of running a McDonalds, irrespective of how many stars they have. It wont be long before they have to put a general in charge, that was a corporal at the start of the special operation.

kind of sad that Chester's magnificent song now sounds like a lament for this disaster of hubris over substance, to our inability to stop the depravity of a single sociopath, all because the UN declines to do their damned job.

This is for us...

"well, I do."

A few months back, @TrentTelenko posted a great question (see below). The possible answer is somewhat unexpected – according to an L/DNR Telegram blogger, civilian vehicles are being used because all the military tires have been stolen and sold. A 🧵

Speculation that Russia sabotaged German railway network

https://www.focus.de/panorama/bahn-s...162148261.html

The rail network in N Germany was paralysed for half a day when two fibre-communication cables - hundreds of kilometres apart -were severed. The article speculates that this could be another Russian warning ( like Nordstream pipeline ) that lots of European infrastructure is vulnerable. This action obviously required a lot of technical knowledge and operatives over a significant area, so unlikely to be extremist weirdos.

Aviation content
In Rostov on 9th October a RuAF SU-24 made a forced landing, pilots ejected and safe.

Interesting bit is that the Russian media that reports it says that "Presumably, the emergency situation occurred due to the long service life of the aircraft, due to outdated characteristics and capacities, it did not reach the airfield."

Are the russkies really running out of spares and updated aircrafts? Was this some sort of soviet era storage piece although they are claiming long service life? And they are really saying all this out loud? Short article but what is unsaid makes it interesting.

One way of stopping people knowing what’s going on.

I assume smokers will be blamed?

Agreed. there is however astonishing resilience in 20th and 21st century advanced countries. A major example of this was the substantial functioning of Germany in 1944 and 1945, despite the necessity to fight on three fronts and with a homeland pounded from the air.
Which thought does not encourage me to store photos on Cloud.
Keep folding money to hand, retain a telephone landline, a full tank of petrol. and back up to an external hard drive in a Faraday cage!

That said, one does hope that reasonable precautions are in hand: Germany was not an obvious target for wrath, given its less than enthusiastic support of Ukraine.

While the cat’s away…..

Turkey is delivering NATO class armoured vehicles to Georgia

Russia views the transfer of modern weaponry to Georgia negatively and claims it threatens to destabilize the South Caucasus

Tough luck!
I wonder when will Russia (namely the TV mouthpieces) finally fully realise how big they f***'ed up?!
