Fleet Air Arm Boys

After two and a half years of hard graft interviewing and getting contributions from 215 former and present FAA people, volume 1 of 'Fleet Air Arm Boys' was published yesterday.

Just to let you know that Volume 2 is coming in July with, Covid permitting, a major launch event in the Fleet Air Arm Museum on the 17th.

Hearty congrats on getting the book to print and may it sell well and be equally well received.

I write books for a hobby and am fortunate to have the same man who dealt with book one as has just done No: 13. A professional relationship which has proved most successful. We have only met on three occasions in 26 years but I have been very lucky when I learn of some people's experience with the publishing trade.

I shall send my ten shillings to the printer and look forward to reading it.

I hope there will be no unseemly spat about whether it's the Fleet Air Arm of the the RN or the RAF!!!!!!!!!!!

Will have to get that one Steve. Add it to the collecttion. Roll on two months time with Dave Gledhill's addition to the series is published, and I get my free copy for the chapter I threw in.

Vampire and Venom Boys? Sadly, very few people came forward to offer their stories. The idea was very quickly overtaken by FAA sea Venom chaps who then said "You can't stop there, what about the Sea Vixen, Sea Hawk, Buccaneer....?"

Those are just a sample, every fixed-wing type is in either Vol.1 or Vol.2 - often in both, and yes of course that includes the Scimitar.
