They said the undercarriage was the biggest obstacle to achieving Stealth on this aircraft, so we disguised it.

The helicopter designer was told, when seconded to help build a fixed-wing aircraft, that he couldn't have a tail rotor. So he settled for having one painted on each side.

That's no Finnish sir, only 79 years on the clock, loads off life left...

( Special Credit a Hearts fan that phoned TalkSport SEVERAL years ago promoting their Goalkeeper Antti Niemi to be in the Scotland squad, Only to be told he's Finnish....

Those? They're a bit like flutes - the faster you fly, the higher the note. Our best pilots can play the National Anthem on them.

We ran out of metal for the fairings around the undercarriage, so we requisitioned the legs from a knight's suit of armour in the castle.

How does it brake?

Quite easily when it slides off the runway into those trees, we are repairing them all the time...

Might be a museum piece but is kept at 72 hr readyness in case the Russians invade
Def Sec (UK ) asked for a update from the UK Aviation Museums looking to increase the no of available war planes.

Normally a very docile craft to fly, The Hergen-Zergen Flippenlooper was a beast to land. Main gear touchdown required a delicate touch; otherwise those swollen, irritated bunions would cause an immediate nose-over.
