She was a good ship crewed by good and brave Men and participated in some important operations in her short life.

From carrying the Army Air Corps B-25 Mitchell's for the Tokyo Raid....to the Battle of Midway....and to her loss in the Solomons....she made a name for herself.

The story of Torpedo Squadron 8....which was lost but one Man....Ensign George Gay, is an amazing account of courage under fire.
