Yes and that's chock to chock, equates to around 17 minutes take off to touch down. When I was last at Duxford I timed 4 Spitfire sorties and they were all within 30 seconds of 17 minutes airborne.

much as I'd love to fly one that's just not value for money in my book

Saw the Spitfire on approach to Exeter yesterday from the nearby M5. Today at lunchtime had the good fortune to see the Sea Fury T.20 G-RNHF overhead here in Cornwall en route to Culdrose where it later gave a short display before later returning home to Yeovilton.

Three years ago I was at Curldrose Air Show and saw the aircraft come to grief and it was very pleasing to once more see it in the Cornish skies.

Saw the Spit when I got off the Flybe at Exeter on Monday...pointed it out to the missus. On the return leg, she saw the advert and asked me if i would be interested. My reply was...

It'll be about £5000 an hour, so I'll pass and have it as a down payment on an Aston Martin.

Kinda impressed I got it so close on a complete guess.
