Shawbury Apache

Any truth in the rumour that we hear out here in sunny C that Shawbury are about to take delivery of the first of many Apache's that are going to be put in storage. I believe that they have already started to clear a hangar out for them. What is the reason for this. If this works why not deliver the Eurofighter to Shawbury as well and stick them in a hangar on the storage flight for a couple of years.

Why not check out http://www.shawbury.raf.mod.uk/spotterstours.htm and try to get yourself on the next visit to see if they are there. Anoraks mandatory, and a box of Kleenex if you get over excited. Probably not much room for the Typhoon at the moment but give it five or six years, when it comes into service who knows.

Weren’t the Harriers delivered straight to storage?
