US Forces in Moray

Throughout today I have seen a C130, possibly a KC135,a P3 and within the last ten minutes a B52 all heading in the general direction of Lossiemouth. Anyone any ideas? In thirty years here I can't remember ever seeing a B52. Normally the local rag would carry any news of upcoming exercises but have seen nowt mentioned. Also didn't think that USAF generally flew at weekends.

Here in Pig atop the Hill we have been treated to a low level pass by a Canberra, Hunter formation (Blue note was glorious), a very low Spitfire, and we also got the B 52s, I suspect returning to Fairford. To all concerned, thanks for the pleasure of your company, please call more frequently.

If the US take over Lossiemouth they may be persuaded to hand it back to the RN.

Sorry glad rag, perhaps you could "cross refer" us to the heads up you mention. As someone who only posted to reflect some nice, unusual air activity I think your input a little cynical. Was there really a post four months ago foretelling a Canberra and Hunter over my house today ? Or are you referring to a pre planned USAF exercise, explaining the B52. Even then, what's the problem ?

Fantastic view of the B2's as they flew over the Thames near Fairford an hour ago. As somebody said to us " they look like something you would see in a Batman movie"......

Great treat of a B2, right over my chimney about 5 minutes ago. Having been devoid of real aircraft (Alberts) for a while, thanks to the USAF for providing some "entertainment".
