Fastest operational interceptor in the world

From the link:

The MiG-31 is the fastest aircraft in operational service in the world.
Is that correct?

Sun.

What a video!
Probably the most extreme use of a Go-Pro aviation wise.
Somehow I suspect they didn't mount them using the factory suction cups though.

Good footage that.

Interesting to see the periscope (image below is quite big and resize BB tags don't seem to work on prrune)

and 'TSR-2 style' forward folding undercarriage in use

I guess at approx M2.8 it is the fastest thing going at the moment, due to blackbird retirement. I suspect all that GoPro footage was distinctly subsonic however!

My thoughts exactly.
At first I thought the periscope was another one they'd mounted up front, and then lost, but then realised what it was.
Pretty amazing performance from a little Go-Pro tho, wonder what speed they were flying at - had to be around 300-350 knots I would have thought?
Great cameras.

Superb video.

I wonder if GoPro had anything to do with the making of it,
wouldn't surprise me as it shows off the camera well.

Love the videos.

The footage of all of those aircraft upside in a loop
is very impressive and not often seen.
