PPRuNe mangled the end of your link. Definitely some sensational reporting but quite a nasty incident

Definitely some sensational reporting
You think so?

The pilots had pulled the plane into a 90° climb

Obviously the GE at fault, failing to secure his toolbox With respect, the floating and hitting the deck in the back of Albert sounds like the same type of event that curtailed my career. Thank goodness no one was killed.

I bet the crowd thought it was the best air display they'd ever seen.

An Air Farce indeed, it's well documented how things are falling apart (Grippens grounded etc), very sad.

You're right about OTT reporting, even in that report pulling out at 200ft became inches off the ground.

Just think what it would have sounded like if the Daily Wail had written it.

The C-130 flight manual warns against high power, nose high, low speed positions for this exact reason. The newer models even have an extra special alert built in to warn the crew of excessive side slide with this kind of thing in mind.

Talking about an Air Force falling apart, this exact same situation seems to happened with one of the RAF C-130Js flying out of Kandahar in Feb 2010, including the reports of bottoming out at 2/300'

Surprised that as it was an airshow no one has posted a movie clip - hope the injured crew members recover fully
