Italian C130J went down today afternoon in LIRP Pisa
With regret I have to report this sad news . Seems the plane crashed close to the airport with all four crew died.
My condolence to their family and a big embrace to the colleagues.

Sadly, I think there were 5 fatalities--memories of RAF Pisa crash so many years ago--sincere thoughts to all the loved ones.

DefenseNews: Italian C-130J Crashes During Training Flight
ROME - An Italian Air Force C-130J crashed during a training flight in Italy today, killing all five crew members aboard.
The aircraft crashed onto train tracks and burst into flames near Pisa military airport, setting electrical wires on fire. The aircraft was based at Pisa, one of 22 C130Js flown by the Italian Air Force's 46th Air Brigade.
The aircraft crashed as it was regaining altitude after making a practice approach to the airport's runway, the Air Force said in a statement.
A spokesman said the cause of the crash was under investigation. A conference on Air Power scheduled to be held by the Italian Air Force in Florence on Nov. 26 and 27 has been postponed due to the incident, the Air Force said.

Terrible news , thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends
I had the pleasure of spending some time with the Italian C-130 guys when they came to Lyneham a couple of years ago.
Thoughts and prayers as usual don't seem much at the moment, but they're all I have to offer.
RIP.

Italian Air Force C130J Crash
The C130J crashes just after Take Off killing 5, contradictory the versions between the eyewitnesses. Some are saying that the C130 was already on fire during the take off roll others saying that it started to roll to the left before diving in flight.
