Post Defence of the Realm

You're a worry, you lot!. .. .Some impressions gained from reading PPRuNe/military aircrew/especially responses to Admin Guru.. .. .That the only military aircrew in the world come from the UK.. .. .That defence of the UK from air attack appears to be in the hands of the 5th form of some quaintly parochial public school, which teaches that defence of the Realm is best achieved by way of long nails, pouting and screeching.. .. .That, with little or no effort, by provoking certain flying types, one can readily ascertain the disposition of stations and squadrons, the reasonably precise layout of individual stations, equipment levels, aircraft types/capabilities and times on/off duty, crew experience levels, morale within the particular station/squadron or service and the likelihood of any of them being a bother to you, the attacker.. .. .That MI5/MI6/CIA et al have been disbanded.. .. .That back-stabbing is rife within the Services.. .. .That military aircrew, in disproportionate numbers, appear sublimely unaware that they constitute but a small (albeit vital) part of a system which requires all parts to be functioning correctly in order to achieve its purpose.. .. .That support from the hierarchy - for front-line flyers - is regarded as tantamount to treason and is therefore a definite threat to hierarchical promotion.. .. .That -"Never assume - always check"- is no longer a requirement (in the spelling dept. at least) for military flying exponents.. .. .That war, or the practice thereof, should be conducted from nothing less uncomfortable than an air-conditioned sofa.. .. .You're a worry. Dead-set!. .. .Lancia. .. .One final impression from ingesting aviation/military/magazine/newspaper/TV/radio reports over the years.. .. .That, within a decade or two, military aircrew will not fly but will operate flying machinery from an air-conditioned sofa - until the meter runs out or it's their turn to summons the steward with fresh gouts of java - the unscripted, but still tasteful, variety. . .. . Tally Ho, chaps!

Cool

Oh dear.. .. .I have no problem whatsoever with non-military-non-aviators reading this forum, or indeed replying. I DO however have to take issue with people who are not qualified to speak intelligently on a subject deriding the rest of us.. .. .Heard of the Gulf War mate? Falklands?...Oh, you have?! What happenned? Oh yes that's right. . .. .We are professional, and almost certainly the best in the world at what we do, which is why we feel qualified to point out the weaknesses in the system. You see, to criticise something, you need to be able to understand it first. That said, if I have used any words that are too big for you, let me know and I'll change them in order to give you a fighting chance.. .. .'Get used to disappointment...'

In all the years of the Mil forum I have yet to see something that could not be summised elsewhere from the public arena. A great deal of intelligence DISinformation is propogated on this forum both intentionally and unintentionally.... .. .I shouldn't worry about the defence of the realm and PPRuNe is I were you.. .. .WWW

If you take the impression that PPRuNe indicates that the only military aircrew in the world come from the UK, that's because they constitute a very high percentage of those posting.. .. .The fact that you make that comment leads me to assume that you're a whingeing Aussie or somesuch, and your other comments indicate that perhaps you don't understand the way in which PPRuNe acts as a useful steam relief valve nor do you appreciate the difference between serious comment and banter.. .. .Your comment that, "with little or no effort, by provoking certain flying types, one can readily ascertain the disposition of stations and squadrons, the reasonably precise layout of individual stations, equipment levels, aircraft types/capabilities....." indicates that you are given to exageration and that you have no conception of how detailed the information put out by Corporate Comms and Inspectorate of Recruiting is.. .. .As a journo I can assure you that PPRuNe may sometimes confirm stories that are out there, and can add useful colour and insight, but very rarely gives anything away.

Wink

In the UK, Lancias have always had a reputation for being rotten and unreliable. (Spot-on about the back stabbing though!)

Jacko. .. .I say, steady on about the Whingeing aussies, I really hope this cluster is not of aussie origin! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="mad.gif" /> . .. .Lancia- if you're trying for a wind up, get a life and have a look around this forum, as there's a lot better people than you doing it.. .If you're not, and are indeed serious in your rambling and inaccurate diatribe mascarading as a post, people like you shouldn't be given access to computers inside padded cells. . .So why don't you poke off to jet blast and annoy some people over there?

Lancia. .I don't quite now how to take your comments. If you mean what you say then, quite honestly, you're a total git who displays an unbelievable lack of knowledge. You can't be that stupid to believe that in 10-20 years we'll be flying from arm-chairs, and if you do- read the newspapers if you can.. .If your here to wind us up, grow up and get a life. We spend months away from our families in absolute shi*holes defending your interests. Go bug someone else.. .Sorry for rising to this level of crap. I know that by replying I'm contributing to it but I can't help it!!. .By the way, if my spelling is wrong.....I don't give a shi*.
