Most of you will know that DERA ceased to exist from Mon 2 July 01. It has now split into a Public Private Partnership under the name of Qinetiq and DSTL(The sneaky bit). Qinetic is wholly MOD owned for a year and will then be floated after that. Boeing does not have any agreements with this new company and so all the sensitive documentation is being held from Qinetiq. This has meant that no servicing can be done on the Apache at Boscombe Down which was being tested to expand the IMAR. The aircraft has now gone back to Middle Wallop where it can be worked on but not tested. Yet another superb blunder by the MOD. Any thoughts ?

Sounds to me like Boeing are trying to delay the effects of another related problem.
I reckon that if the problems with the Full Motion Sim at middle wallop hold up training for much longer, the company that runs it (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boeing) will probably end up paying mega-bucks in penalties.
This all becomes academic, however, if the IMAR is delayed - after all, no IMAR = no full flying training programme = no massive rush on the FMS after all!
Could Boeing execs possibly be that scheming?
I think we should be told...

Another article that only serves to sadden the heart.........

I did see the 2 'mythical' Apache floating around the Wallop area a couple of weeks ago - or maybe it was just the cunning use of smoke and mirrors.
At the rate the programme is progressing any 'current' aircrew with a modicum of experience will be drawing their pension or flying in the north-sea.
Maybe aircrew may get extended to the 55 year point to plug the experience gap????
BEWARE LOW FLYING ELEPHANTS!!!!!!
