Out of interest, the seat pitch on Virgin economy class is 31". In a VC10C1K it's 34", in a VC10K4 it's 36". Don't know about a DeathStar, but it's pretty good from memories of wonderful trips down to the Islas Malvinas.... So any passengers looking forward to a comfy few hours ogling, say, Virgin's toasties in a 747 might care to NB what 5" less seat pitch for nearly 16 hours might feel like......

BEagle I am sure that decent IFE and totty would appeal to most squaddies Plus the cost savings to joe public and less fossil fuel into the atmosphere, do we need to go on. .

Beagle
They may have a shorter seat pitch but at least they won't treat you like a bottom feeder at your secret Oxfordshire airbase! Have you been there as an ordinary aircrew passenger? It is a disgrace the way the service treats its own aircrew.

Cyclic, I'm surprised that you are not for Virgin getting the contract, then the first class cabin could be used solely for the benefit of aircrew, while us baldricks just suffer in cattle class !!!!!!!!

On a serious note, this must be an ideal time for the MOD to put this out to contract. VS & BA are storing aircraft which could be used on this route, at no doubt a good price
Not sure if I would like going back to MPA though, perhaps I can stay in ASI

Quite right old boy, aircrew in first, bluntie officers and snco's in club and the the junior ranks and hangers on in economy.
And remeber that that pilot officer sitting in club drinking champers is your superior, so be nice and call him sir.
Good thinking that airman.
ps. are you the mover tw*t that stole my bikes coming back from alaska in summer 96?
