I seem to remember an occasion just after the Falklands War, when the R.A.F. were nailing sidewinders onto anything flying, a Nimrod claiming two 'kills' as Tornados carelessly overshot it dead ahead.

We know it wasn't P/O Wales as he's with the WIGS winning the War on Drugs. So who was it? Will he/she be in the MoD News next week?

To paraphrase KK, I'd just love it if it were an RN pilot...

I must say it's a while since I left the cockpit but I didn't realise that Tucanos and VC10s had guns!
No but the VC10 had bombs.... I seem to remember a certain female Air Loadmaster, (You know, the person down the back that was used to counterbalance the Navigator up front) removing all the pins from the load they were carrying because all those nice little red flags said remove before flight.
