Military Aviation A forum for the professionals who fly military hardware. Also for the backroom boys and girls who support the flying and maintain the equipment, and without whom nothing would ever leave the ground. All armies, navies and air forces of the world equally welcome here.

Thanks - London June 3rd

Let me get this straight. Your claim is the British beat the British. The British beat themselves? Is this some perverse Anglo argument with Onanism as the basic premise?

As for our dear Admiral Lafayette, what is your point Sir? Although not the best of soldiers, he did not suffer the same fate as your British admiral John Byng.

"However, remember when you had a substantial military? Seems you made a nuisance of yourselves at times as well........."

I can just about remember boyhood impressions of the mid-50s pre-Duncan Sandys era. When everything was sunny, we even had a real railway system......mumble, dribble, mumble! Probably the last time we had anything approximating to a 'substantial military'....certainly true of the RAF though; not sure about the other services.

To be boring for a minute - the answer to the original question is nothing exciting - just 3x Lynx holding at Kew going to N'holt for some gas on their way back from "Whatashame."

The rest were just navving back from work on transits (well - London looks mighty fine form the air at 1000ft!!)

Hey - who were the guys in the wokka that allegedly woke up some MOD senior hats at 0600hrs the other week.......

AMAZINGLY - no-one even mentioned the Jungly Sea King throwing people out the back at the HAC Summer Ball some weeks back - 2000ft at 8pm and 5000ft at 1040pm. Anyone see it??

Back to the squabbling......

Correct. Just as we did in 1642-51, the French did in 1789-99 and you did to yourselves in 1861-65. It's called a civil war and the popular uprising won. You had not established a nation until after the war and were a British colony, and therefore British citizens. Even then you weren't happy, hence your own civil war.

Glad you are an ex-colony!, we wouldn't win as many medals at the commonwealth games otherwise. But lets face it, the yanks have been stealthily invaded by so many different cultures that they have 50 mini countries(states) and no real natonal identity!
Stand by,stand by....
