Great Work,

I actually remember being in a very similar scene to your picture.. Obs dropped the route map out of the window, and we had to come down and read roadsigns to get home, isle of man - RNAS Prestwick

Standto,

It's a lovely picture, but I'm afraid I'm going to hold up the spotter card. The painting of the numbers and Reg is in black which is an old colour scheme from the 80's and the cab is fitted with sandfilters which weren't fitted to MK6's until the late 90's.

Sorry, but it's still a nice piccy,

MR

Standto,

I'll take your word for it but every mark 6 (or 5) I flew was in the new paintwork (white letterwork). Is this taken from a picture? If when and what Sqn?

There is also a lack of downwash but now I'm being really sad.

Still a nice piccy though.

Good picture, better than what I could do.

It looks like the rotor head is unbalanced, with four of the rotor blades seemingly occupying 180 degrees with just one blade having the other 180 degrees by itself.

I would still have it hanging on my wall.

Shark 07, that old bird just keeps on going. That painting really does it justice, I am sure the boys down at 817 Sqn would love to get their hands on a print. Any chance you could Knock up a painting of Wessex 19 floating off Bondi Beach!!

Thee is a hint downwash on the original. This is just a fairly low-res photo to post it on the web.

Wessex 19 - email me some piccies and I'll have a look. I'm always on the look out for unusual settings. This painting arose from someone sending me it on a completely unrelated matter. I thought at the time it would make a good painting - love the angry sky and the palm trees.

I will never be in the class of Taylor, Trudgian et al, so am really pleased with your comments, folks. It makes it easier to pick up a pencil for the next one!!

Here is another one I did some time ago

STANDTO, here is a picture of Wessex 19 after her ditching off Bondi 26/ 05/ 1987. She was used for fire "lighting" practice. I will see if I can find a "prettier Picture" from better days for you. Cheers mate.

Well, its a start!

I could do with some aerial photos of Bondi, and a few other piccies to get the markings and kit on the machine right.

Anyone else help the cause??
