chinook at Heathrow

Alrite Guys

Anyone know why a Chinook was playing chicken with airliners at Heathrow this morning at about 0900L on RW 27L? it did look very funny seeing it winging round avoiding airliners!

Hi chap

There is a heli route that goes right over Heathrow, I've been through it and along the Thames myself. (Northolt as well.)

We cross visually behind the next 747 on finals, then proceed wherever while talking to Heathrow or Thames Radar.
