SAAB 2000 for Pakistan?

Seem like PIA is interested in the SAAB 2000 for their domestic routes, Pakistani president is coming to Sweden in july another
reason is that Pakistan is interested in 40 JAS Gripen fighters,
instead of the F16s they never got.
Anyone has any other info?

When I was flying the domestic routes in Pakistan last month the general concensus was that PIA were going for F50's.

After that prang involving that F27 in Chitral last week it's anybodies guess now.

The Dash 8 news is not possible, the airline have yet to decide which aircraft to take, the one you mentioned is only in the country for trial runs, maybe they painted it in PIA livery to patronise the airline and win the order, PIA will be going for used versions of what ever type they opt for.

I know a guy working in Ops there, and also a 777 Captain. The Saab 2000 is what they're going for. Well, its inside infomation, so I suppose it's not bad for the source.

Well, they usually only take pilots though the Cadet Pilot Training Scheme, regardless whether they're experienced or not. Rumour has it that they're going to be advertising in the national press near the end of the year-but you HAVE to be a Pakistani National to apply. Promotions are always from within. A group of 30 were just hired nearer the begining of this year.
