Air Rum
Havent heard of this airline before, but they are flying the sorriest looking L1011 that i have ever seen. Yellow paint scheme and a 9L tailnumber.
Anyone know who they are?

Mutt, is that for Hajj they are running this? I know them. Hisham Ansari is the MD and he has contacted our company on several occasions for various things...pity they didn't take us up on our offer as they might have had something a bit more respectable then the L10-11!

Rae,
I guess so as the aircraft was parked at the Hajj terminal, wish that i had taken a picture, it sure was a sorry looking aircraft, especially parked beside a couple of other L1011's.
PIA747, vaguely remember a B747 with Universal titles as we landed, but couldnt say if it was LH or not.

Hi Mutt,
They are a Jordanian operator that was going to get 500's not sure what they are operating at the moment model wise, same as Universal at the moment flying the Hajj but not a lot else. There are now three operators from Jordan, Universal, Rum and Stargate plus one more from Abu Dhabi all operating L1011's most of them ex Delta models.

mutt,
i've seen their yellow L1011 in Casablanca about two weeks ago.
It was operating a flight on behalf of Libyan Arab and in few occasions they also hire Air Universal Tristars.
It is a tired looking plane, but great to hear those RB-211 starting-up.

Thanks for that Coastrider, would be interested to know what is happening to them since their previous owners got rid of them, must check with my contact who said they were operating into Iraq. Once again thanks for the info.
Just to confuse a thread about Rum even further the -200F,s are flying in Star Air colours with CBJ Cargo on the tail apparently. Just wondered how the old ex Kitt and Caribjet aircraft were doing.
