Chronic Sore Throat

I've had a sore throat since early May. Got a cold then, which started with a sore throat which has never really gone. (and I had another cold recently)

It feels like I've spent the evening shouting in a noisy pub (I haven't) and my tonsils look red as well. I seem to be tired most of the time as well hence am not flying at present.

If I do something to make me breathless it feels very dry & scratchy.

I've never smoked, have asthma which is well-controlled, don't have allergies, eat a healthy diet, and live in the country. I've been in this house for several years without having the problem before.

Any suggestions, other than see the Dr?
